SVbux: A sad day...

It was been 2-3 days SVbux is down. From the beginning I was having great faith that it will get online soon, till today when official news was made. So what is it happens to SVbux?

It all started when guy A demand admin to pay for his copyrighted PTC script, or he will log a report / launch attack (whichever true). So, DDOS (wikipedia for the meaning) attack was initiated to SVbux, and apparently it cause damage to the site. My last USD$100+ withdrawal was made during the interval DDOS attack was calm...

Admin decided to end this war by paying the blackmailing guy. Everything seems normal. But soon not even another 24 hours, the site was been targeted and this time, never back online again.

Many users earns, as well as many users lose. I am the lucky one, as I invest only $107 and I withdraw $439.39 or a profit of $332.40 within two and half months. I told myself always prepare for the worst, as you can gain from PTC, you could loss from PTC too. I am sad to those who had losses, but as I mention always, only invest the amount you afford to lose.

I don't find any better PTC so far, so I am not sure whether I will in PTC again or not. I still clicking my Neobux as well as Wordlinx. Shell Power Seminar 2009

Thanks to my supervisor / manager, I was given the chance to attend the Shell Power Seminar 2009 in Park Royal, KL. I must admit Shell is really rich (No. 1 in Top 500 fortune company) and the seminar was organized in a very structured way. As the introduction is sufficient, there is no problem in understand the onwards presentation.

What is this seminar all about? As usual, introduction of the organizer (Shell), introduction to technical terms / oil tests (which is the essential part in the whole seminar to me) then introduction to Shell Turbine oil, Guest speaker from OEM (Siemens), and back to Shell products again (Grease, Hydraulic oil, insulation / electrical oil, compressor oil etc).

Participants were given a night stay in Park Royal Hotel (wow!!), souvenirs for example T-shirt, note book and seminar material. There were quiz and lucky draw in between the seminar, where quiz bring you a price of Shell pewter, and lucky draw prizes are shopping voucher, backpack, watch... (Pity I did not win one in the lucky draw... Lol~)

Influenza-Like Illness (ILI)

On 18 Aug, I return from Pulau Pangkor, on the way I feel very tired, but the weather is so hot, I cant sleep well in the car. So bad staying in a resort which never maintain their air condition unit. Instead of cool air, it is simply working as a fan. @_@
On 19 Aug, I feel little uncomfortable, a feeling like the whole body feel warm. I brought my body thermometer along as recently influenza is so scaring... Starting to take body temperature measurement hourly, highest record 37.4C, it seems nothing wrong.
20 Aug, I know something definitely goes wrong. As usual I took out my body thermometer, oh my goodness, 37.7C, and I believe it will goes up when time goes by. I skip my lunch as I want to get more rest. The afternoon my body temperature goes up to 38.4C. Immediately I went to a clinic, after inspection from a chinese doctor, he give me a influenza rapid test. After 15 minutes waiting, he told me the result is positive.

--GG-- I am influenza patient, H1N1?

The doctor give me some common medicine, for fever, running nose, cough, asthma (though I only have fever and slight asthma) and ask me to go to general hospital or private hospital for antibiotic and antiviral with a letter. He told me my case not required admittance to hospital but must self quarantine for at least 7 days. So I head to Gleneagles Hospital.

Again, I was told to visit the A&E dept in hospital, being consulted by an Indian doctor, finally I know what is the meaning of Influenza rapid test. I actually have a lot of queries after I read poster / memo in hospital. "This is not a H1N1 test" bla bla bla... So what is this influenza rapid test for?

The answer is: This rapid test is suggested by WHO to have a quick diagnose whether the patient should receive tamiflu (antibiotic and antiviral) treatment. This rapid test is not 100% accurate and it is not a H1N1 test. The result simply tell you that your flu belongs to group A or group B. There are many kind of flu fall under these group. A very common harmless flu can belongs to group A too! You will not known whether you are H1N1 patient unless your sample was sent to specific laboratory and it will required some time before the result is out. To take precaution and avoid awaiting time, WHO recommend influenza rapid test a guideline for antiviral treatment.

So I received my antibiotic and antiviral. What? Just medicine only it costs me RM233.50!! Oh my goodness, and I only know that this medicine is actually manufactured in Malaysia, Sungai Petani!!   My goodness. Immediately I take so light food and consume the medicine. Thanks god after a day I feel much much better and my body temperature back to normal.

After 2 days, I feel nothing else wrong, but of course I remember doctor's advice which finish the medicine and self quarantine. I always stay in my small room till now... My last dose of medicine is on Tuesday morning. So far my body reporting everything is fine. Thanks god for your blessing. My parents are healthy too. For precaution, I know I will wear a mask when outside as now is really a very very critical time.

Convocation 16 Aug 2009

16 Aug 2009 is my convocation in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. I joined UTP on Jan 2004, and graduate on Dec 2008. 5 years of study prepare myself before entering the working life. In this 5 years I know my best friend, I fall in love with them, I fight with them, I jogged with them, they become part of my important life. Thanks to them, without them, I will still somebody staying at 17 years old :)

I can say today is the full stop of my life in UTP. In future I may not able find any excuse back to UTP (unless my junior ask me to go back, haha!), my only regret in this convocation is I did not have the chance to take photos with my lecturers and someone I looking forward to meet! (She left after the morning... Wuuuuuwuuuu)

Well, if given a chance to back to old days, I wish I can focus those area which is more important in work life, not simply just what my lecturer told in the class. I wish I can fully utilize all the facilities in UTP, which I had paid for. I wish... so many wishes, but I simply miss it. Huhu..

Man shall not regret, I will stop here, make this post memorable, and a point in my life as a reference point for the future.

EeePC 1005HA - New baby

Consider of bringing laptop to everywhere, anytime, any place, I made a decision to get myself a new baby - The Asus EeePC 1005 HA. This is a latest model, featuring the sea shell design and 10.5 hours under power save usage. My personal experience is in normal usage it can last for at least 5-6 hours (with WiFi / 3G wireless broadband)
Complete loading into windows only less than 1 min (50+s), with all necessary software installed, such as Microsoft Office 2007, MSN (WLM), Skype, GTalk, only without any antivirus. Shutdown time around 15-20s!! Go to sleep almost instant (less than 10s). It has 3 USB output and one VGA output. It's light weight suitable for use in car, and bring to office for presentation. The keyboard is 92% of standard size keyboard. Initial use (typing) may find uneasy but after few hours you will definitely used to it!!
