SVbux: A sad day...

It was been 2-3 days SVbux is down. From the beginning I was having great faith that it will get online soon, till today when official news was made. So what is it happens to SVbux?

It all started when guy A demand admin to pay for his copyrighted PTC script, or he will log a report / launch attack (whichever true). So, DDOS (wikipedia for the meaning) attack was initiated to SVbux, and apparently it cause damage to the site. My last USD$100+ withdrawal was made during the interval DDOS attack was calm...

Admin decided to end this war by paying the blackmailing guy. Everything seems normal. But soon not even another 24 hours, the site was been targeted and this time, never back online again.

Many users earns, as well as many users lose. I am the lucky one, as I invest only $107 and I withdraw $439.39 or a profit of $332.40 within two and half months. I told myself always prepare for the worst, as you can gain from PTC, you could loss from PTC too. I am sad to those who had losses, but as I mention always, only invest the amount you afford to lose.

I don't find any better PTC so far, so I am not sure whether I will in PTC again or not. I still clicking my Neobux as well as Wordlinx. Shell Power Seminar 2009

Thanks to my supervisor / manager, I was given the chance to attend the Shell Power Seminar 2009 in Park Royal, KL. I must admit Shell is really rich (No. 1 in Top 500 fortune company) and the seminar was organized in a very structured way. As the introduction is sufficient, there is no problem in understand the onwards presentation.

What is this seminar all about? As usual, introduction of the organizer (Shell), introduction to technical terms / oil tests (which is the essential part in the whole seminar to me) then introduction to Shell Turbine oil, Guest speaker from OEM (Siemens), and back to Shell products again (Grease, Hydraulic oil, insulation / electrical oil, compressor oil etc).

Participants were given a night stay in Park Royal Hotel (wow!!), souvenirs for example T-shirt, note book and seminar material. There were quiz and lucky draw in between the seminar, where quiz bring you a price of Shell pewter, and lucky draw prizes are shopping voucher, backpack, watch... (Pity I did not win one in the lucky draw... Lol~)

Too much words for this post. Let's have a look on some photos taken. Again thanks to my manager and Shell for such opportunity. It is beneficial to me!!

Influenza-Like Illness (ILI)

On 18 Aug, I return from Pulau Pangkor, on the way I feel very tired, but the weather is so hot, I cant sleep well in the car. So bad staying in a resort which never maintain their air condition unit. Instead of cool air, it is simply working as a fan. @_@
On 19 Aug, I feel little uncomfortable, a feeling like the whole body feel warm. I brought my body thermometer along as recently influenza is so scaring... Starting to take body temperature measurement hourly, highest record 37.4C, it seems nothing wrong.
20 Aug, I know something definitely goes wrong. As usual I took out my body thermometer, oh my goodness, 37.7C, and I believe it will goes up when time goes by. I skip my lunch as I want to get more rest. The afternoon my body temperature goes up to 38.4C. Immediately I went to a clinic, after inspection from a chinese doctor, he give me a influenza rapid test. After 15 minutes waiting, he told me the result is positive.

--GG-- I am influenza patient, H1N1?

The doctor give me some common medicine, for fever, running nose, cough, asthma (though I only have fever and slight asthma) and ask me to go to general hospital or private hospital for antibiotic and antiviral with a letter. He told me my case not required admittance to hospital but must self quarantine for at least 7 days. So I head to Gleneagles Hospital.

Again, I was told to visit the A&E dept in hospital, being consulted by an Indian doctor, finally I know what is the meaning of Influenza rapid test. I actually have a lot of queries after I read poster / memo in hospital. "This is not a H1N1 test" bla bla bla... So what is this influenza rapid test for?

The answer is: This rapid test is suggested by WHO to have a quick diagnose whether the patient should receive tamiflu (antibiotic and antiviral) treatment. This rapid test is not 100% accurate and it is not a H1N1 test. The result simply tell you that your flu belongs to group A or group B. There are many kind of flu fall under these group. A very common harmless flu can belongs to group A too! You will not known whether you are H1N1 patient unless your sample was sent to specific laboratory and it will required some time before the result is out. To take precaution and avoid awaiting time, WHO recommend influenza rapid test a guideline for antiviral treatment.

So I received my antibiotic and antiviral. What? Just medicine only it costs me RM233.50!! Oh my goodness, and I only know that this medicine is actually manufactured in Malaysia, Sungai Petani!! My goodness. Immediately I take so light food and consume the medicine. Thanks god after a day I feel much much better and my body temperature back to normal.

After 2 days, I feel nothing else wrong, but of course I remember doctor's advice which finish the medicine and self quarantine. I always stay in my small room till now... My last dose of medicine is on Tuesday morning. So far my body reporting everything is fine. Thanks god for your blessing. My parents are healthy too. For precaution, I know I will wear a mask when outside as now is really a very very critical time.

Convocation 16 Aug 2009

16 Aug 2009 is my convocation in Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS. I joined UTP on Jan 2004, and graduate on Dec 2008. 5 years of study prepare myself before entering the working life. In this 5 years I know my best friend, I fall in love with them, I fight with them, I jogged with them, they become part of my important life. Thanks to them, without them, I will still somebody staying at 17 years old :)

I can say today is the full stop of my life in UTP. In future I may not able find any excuse back to UTP (unless my junior ask me to go back, haha!), my only regret in this convocation is I did not have the chance to take photos with my lecturers and someone I looking forward to meet! (She left after the morning... Wuuuuuwuuuu)

Well, if given a chance to back to old days, I wish I can focus those area which is more important in work life, not simply just what my lecturer told in the class. I wish I can fully utilize all the facilities in UTP, which I had paid for. I wish... so many wishes, but I simply miss it. Huhu..

Man shall not regret, I will stop here, make this post memorable, and a point in my life as a reference point for the future.

EeePC 1005HA - New baby

Consider of bringing laptop to everywhere, anytime, any place, I made a decision to get myself a new baby - The Asus EeePC 1005 HA. This is a latest model, featuring the sea shell design and 10.5 hours under power save usage. My personal experience is in normal usage it can last for at least 5-6 hours (with WiFi / 3G wireless broadband)
Complete loading into windows only less than 1 min (50+s), with all necessary software installed, such as Microsoft Office 2007, MSN (WLM), Skype, GTalk, only without any antivirus. Shutdown time around 15-20s!! Go to sleep almost instant (less than 10s). It has 3 USB output and one VGA output. It's light weight suitable for use in car, and bring to office for presentation. The keyboard is 92% of standard size keyboard. Initial use (typing) may find uneasy but after few hours you will definitely used to it!!

Siemens Gas Turbine Major Overhaul

I am so fortunate to join the Siemens Gas Turbine v94.2 Major Overhaul in YTL Power Services just after 5 months joining the company. I must admit it is quite tired in the overhaul duration, but it is also very interesting as I see something real, not only paper drawing or plainly photos.

In YTL Power Services Pasir Gudang, 2 units / blocks of Siemens V94.2 gas turbines, single shaft, single casing and heavy duty design were installed. The V94.2 gas turbines are driving air cooled generators which have a rated ISO-power of 150 MW.

The 25 days duration of gas turbine unit 11 major overhaul start since 15 July t0 8 Aug 2009. Here I will posts some of the interesting photos up!

My colleagues recommend to me a new product which I would like to recommend to all of you especially those who own a car (or two or more?!! ^_^)
Perhaps you may think that washing, waxing your car is a troublesome. Wonder clay is a great product while it is cheap RM28.90, available in every Jusco store. I purposely find a day to visit Jusco to purchase and try this product on the same day. It is awesome! My Myvi was rough due to sand blasting activity beside my company. With Wonder Clay, simply spalshing small amount water and wrap with Wonder Clay, I get back my smooth and shiny surface again! It is amazing and very easy task!
Wonder Clay itself like a plastersine (maybe some spelling error here) Basically it can adhere fine particles which hardly to remove by washing / waxing. Try it today, it does not cost you much and it can last for sometime. Just make sure you have a car wash before using Wonder Clay as this will effectively prolong the product life!

Huawei E220 USB HSDPA modem

This is the modem I purchase for my Celcom broadband. It was unlocked so that I can insert any SIM card without limitation. Firmware was updated to support 7.2mbps!! I get it at RM249 inclusive postage. This is the cheapest price I can find for this brand and model of modem. I believe there are cheaper but definitely not the same brand and model.

I decide to get my car a wax / polish today. I went to Jusco, Tebrau City to survey the price. I visited Cars International with voucher I got from SenQ membership redemption. Surprisingly, the price is extremely expensive. Imagine:
Polish + Clean = RM128 (Non-member) RM39 (Member)
With the voucher I can get RM60 discount so only RM68 I can get a polish. However when the service guy look at my car, he told me that simply polish is not enough because my car is so rough due to blasting etc. He show me this:
Clean + Wax + Polish + Nano xxx = RM300+ (Non-member) RM188 (Member)
Wow, the price is also triple when the work triple. When I ask for the membership price, he told me that with the voucher I have I can get a RM50 cash rebate. Membership for one year is RM535 (With voucher is RM485). Upon the membership will get "Clean + Wax + Polish + Nano xxx" once for free. I was thinking it MAY worth as I get plenty discount after joining member, and my house has so many old cars, they may need some polishing too.

Cars International are smart too! The service guy told me that the membership is only applicable to one register car! However I can add another RM70 to register second car and receive member price for their service. When I heard of this, immediately I had my plan cancelled!

So I decided to shop in Jusco as I was there. I saw this pretty cute tool, and it is under 10% discount during Jusco 25th anniversary. After long consideration, I decide to buy this cool baby. And for the first time I try out / swap my card (It is only a debit card from Maybank, ATM+Visa debit card, I am not rich enough for a credit card). Since it was my first time swapping a card, I asked the counter "Cik, boleh saya pakai debit card?" and show him the debit card. Transaction is smooth and easy, I thought it will required my ATM pin and nope, just give him the card and he swap and you sign on the receipt, that it! Money was immediately deducted from your saving account. Security issue raise in my mind. If I pick up someone Maybank ATM + debit card, I will not try to withdraw money from ATM and having hard time guessing for ATM pin, I can go and get any merchandise I want! This is scary!!

After having a Symbian phone (actually two unit if including my poor N73ME which went into the sea for swimming), I like the features and functions from smartphone. I am not someone who just look into the design and shape of phone, but the functions and features the phone can provide are much attractive to me. After playing with Symbian OS for some time, I wish to get a Windows Mobile phone if the opportunity is there.
So the opportunity came, and after long consideration, I decided to fork out the last cent I have in my account and buy the HTC Touch Diamond. I can have the Samsung OMNIA 16GB with addition of RM300 but I don't want spent even more, and I know HTC is the PDA leading brand, there come my conclusion.

I got my HTC Touch Diamond on 19March2009, as what I was told, your thumb print can be easily stick on the phone unless you with a dry hand. Well, it does not matter, this is still a nice phone, the short side is it don't have memory card slot (however internal with 4GB) and low battery capacity (900mAH). The first thing I did is to upgrade the firmware via the official released rom. I believe one day I gonna try the customized rom developed by some other experts.
I configured my phones to 6230 - UMobile, 3110c - DiGi, N82 - Hotlink, Touch Diamond - Celcom UOX. In future I may need another phone for XOX, who knows? >..<

I would like to share my experience when I was on the way back to Kelantan hometown during CNY. My dad and I were sitting in front, my mum and brother were at the back. We knew that the Rm300 penalty will be "given" in case back passenger did not wear his seat belt. The story begin after we take a short rest at a petrol station (sshh shhh la)
My brother buckled up his seatbelt but not my mum
My dad driving and we are approaching a police stop checkpoint
As usual, we have our roadtax paid, car license not expired, we slow down and pass by the checkpoint.
Police: Belakang tak nak pakai tali pinggang ke?
I turn my head over and say "shit" silently when I saw my mum forget her seatbelt
Because only the front window was opened, my mum who was at the back cant hear correctly reply: Belakang xde barang sir!
Again the police ask, with the hand pointed on my mum
This time my mum wind down her side window and got the policeman message,
Mum: Sorry sorry (quickly buckle her seatbelt)
Luckily the policeman just give us a warning and allow us to go. I guess maybe he saw my brother was wearning, and my mum is old enough to get fine... Huhu...

Well, for those who dont know or not aware, my google account was hacked by somebody in UTP. Here are the investigation report:
Attack type: Sniffing
Attack media: WIFI or LAN
Damage: Some personal info disclose, some accounts password was changed, annoy email to all contacts, annoy Gtalk shoutout created
Damage rating: 4 stars (5 star max)
Attack flow: Suspected two Google accounts of mine been sniff through network (WIFI or LAN) and cookies was captured. Intruder somehow with the sniffed cookies enter my account and change both of my Google account password. Immediately after obtain permits into my account, intruder view chat logs and email kept and changed shoutout in gtalk, retrieve other account password linked with gmail via forget password feature.
Recovered: Thanks god that recovered my account via??? Thank you.

A login log confirms intruder is a UTP-ian as
Intruder use forget password and obtain new password
Intruder login with the new password (Login details logged here)
I recover the account and found the login IP was UTP LAN IP.

Solution: Kindly be careful when access your Gmail. Use https instead of http.

Last but not least, shame on you as a UTPian.

Sad... Disappointed. Perhaps this is the best word under the world could describe my feeling currently.
I did my preparation before taking the solid mechanics test, however, luck doesn't seems along with me. I could not analysis the hidden information in the question, and therefore, I failed to answer the question.
I believe that I did mistakes in other question. Perhaps I am not intelligent enough. Futhermore, the test room is so hot till one could not concentrate during the exam. I wonder is maintainence department having leave all all rather work under air-con office rather than coming out checking the condition of rooms...
Well, solid test is over, there are one more test tomorrow, 1 tutorial, 1 assignment, and 1 project due on tomorrow... Mechanical enginneering is busy, do think more than twice before you step into this area.
